Knock Conference:  All the priests of the Diocese are meeting in Knock from Mon. to Wed.  There will be no morning Mass on Tues. or Wed.  There will be Mass on Mon. evening. At 7 p.m.  Fr. Pierre can be contacted as usual at the no. above.

Church Restoration:  We received planning permission for our Church Restoration last Tues.  The work will begin in the next 3 to 4 weeks.

First Holy Communion Change:  As many of you may be aware a major change to our celebration of Frist Holy Communion has taken place.  From 2013 parents will be given the choice as to when they wish their child to receive Communion for the first time.  This change has had a mixed reaction, but the majority of Church members have welcomed it.

Saint Padro Pio’s Glove will be at the Ark Centre, 23 Mitchell Terrace, Athlone on Saturday 13 Oct. 2012.  Prayer and blessing will start at 10 a.m. and finish at 8 p.m. Mass will follow at 8.30 p.m.   All are welcome   Please contact 087 1637393

West Offaly Comhaltas are host to the Comhaltas All Ireland Music Tour on Thurs. Oct. 25th in Banagher College. Tickets available from any branch of Offaly Comhaltas tickets €10 & €15.

Crumlin Children’s Hospital Mount Everest Trek:  On 18th Oct. this year Shane Flannery will embark on a trek to Mt. Everest Base Camp accompanying Ken Lucas, to raise much needed funds for Crumlin Children’s Hospital.  Shane has a number of sponsorship cards in business premises around the town.  Any support would be greatly appreciated.
