Hough Family, Main St., 19th – 26th Maura Reddin and Grogan Family, Birr Road.   If you wish to take the icon to your home please sign your name on the sheet beside the Mercy Image.

Morning Prayer 6.30 a.m.   We begin each day at 6.30 a.m. with silent prayer before the Blessed Sacrament.  We pray for families, the sick, the young.

Church Cleaners:  We are very fortunate here in St. Rynagh’s to have a group of dedicated helpers who look after the Church, cleaning and maintaining the building.  We have two groups, each group cleans the Church once a month on a Thurs. at 10 a.m.  We are looking to recruit new members to this list.   You will have to give 1 hour a month.  If

you can be of assistance and would like to volunteer you can give your name to Fr. Pierre or Ann Cox.

Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced Computer Classes will commence in Crank House during the months of January & February. Manual Handling course every Friday. Call Carmel on 057 9152003 for further information.

 

 

Local Training Initiatives: Landscape & Horticulture Course (Fetac level 4 award).          St. Rynagh’s College of Further education, Banagher are running the above course for 26 weeks starting in April 2017.  Training will be provided in a range of subjects including: Plant Propagation, Garden Design, Hard Landscaping in Paving, Stonework and bricklaying through a series of practical projects on site and a work placement with an employer, learners will develop the necessary skills to assist them in gaining employment in the industry. Congratulations to Sr. Bridget L.S.U. Convent who will celebrate her Diamond Jubilee 60th Anniversary on Wed. 1st of Feb, The Feast of St. Brigid.  We thank her for her 60 years of faithful service as a La Sainte Union Sister and wish her all God’s Blessings for the years ahead.  Mass to mark her Jubilee will be celebrated on Wed. 1st Feb. at 12 noon in

St. Rynagh’s Church.  All welcome to attend.  There will be no 9.30 a.m. Mass that day and Adoration will commence at 1 p.m. and not the usual 10 a.m.

Candlemas Day: On Thurs. 2nd Feb. candles will be blessed for use in homes and in the Parish.  If you wish to have candles blessed you can leave them on the table in the Church during the week.

Feast of St. Blaise on Fri. 3rd Feb.  Blessing of Throats will take place at 9.30 a.m. and 7 p.m. Mass

Banagher Men’s Shed 2017 are now up and running.  A committee has been elected and a premises secured for activities. Several ideas are being investigated, as a programme is being drawn up for the year. New members most welcome. Banagher Ladies Club Meeting on Wed. 1st Feb. at 8.30 p.m. at the old school hall. Our talk will be on Cognitive Behaviour Therapy.  All welcome.

Remembrance Service on Mon. 6th Feb. 2017 at 7.30 p.m. in Portiuncula University Hospital Chapel, Galway. This is a Service for parents who have experienced bereavement through the death of a child or who have lost a baby through miscarriage, stillbirth or neonatal death.

Catholic Schools Week will take place from 29th Jan to 4th Feb. and special educational resources have been prepared to support students and teachers at primary and at post-primary level.  This year’s theme, ‘Catholic schools: Learning with Pope Francis to care for our common home’.  A dedicated Facebook page called ‘Catholic Schools Week’ shares resources and information about local events around the country and it offers useful analysis on Catholic education
