Newsletters:  Due to the falling income to the Parish we are forced to make a number of cut backs.  One of the areas will be the number of newsletters for the Masses.  From the beginning of Sept. newsletters will be put out before the Masses and not on Fridays as has been the tradition.

Shannon Bank Park Collection raised €561. Thank you for your support. If you missed the collection and would like to contribute to the upkeep of the park please give your contribution to any of the trustees or leave it into the tourist office in the crank house.
This year’s Readings from The Pallet takes place on Fri. 26th August in Corrigan’s Corner House, Poets and Friends welcome.

Banagher Library August Opening Hours are Thursday 2 – 5 p.m. & 6  – 8 p.m., Friday 10 a.m. -1 p.m.  & 2 – 5 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.   All Open Libraries members can use the library 8 a.m. – 10 p.m.  Monday through to Sunday. To join as an Open Library member bring photo ID and proof of address to the library during staffed hours. Library books can be returned to any library branch in Offaly. Banagher United A.F.C. – summer camp:   * Well done to all those who took part in our recent week long Summer Camp – it goes from strength to strength each year. Hope you all enjoyed yourselves! Many thanks to all the coaches who helped make it such a success. The coaches were Alan Hoare, Lisa Byrne, Shane Anthony Kelly, Leroy Rhodes, Patrick McFeeley, Ori Dickson and Ger McGilton. Of course the camp would never be the success it is without the huge time and effort of the organisers Francis and Rachel Healy.  Also thanks to anyone else who helped during the week.  * The club is currently looking for coaches and volunteers to help with our teams for the upcoming season. Landscape & Horticulture Course (Fetac level 4 Award). St Rynagh’s College of Further Education, Banagher are running the above course for 26 weeks starting in September 2016. Through a series of practical projects on site and a work placement with an employer, learners will develop the necessary skills to assist them in gaining employment in this industry. For further information /details, please contact 087 683 5561.

Time of Silence and Prayer:  Each Wed. evening from 8.30 p.m. to 9 p.m., a short time of silence and prayer takes place in the Church.  This is a wonderful way to close the activities of the day.   All are welcome.
