Banagher Cemetery:  The Annual Cemetery Collection Envelopes will be distributed during the coming weeks.  All money collected is used to maintain and develop the cemetery.

Parish Communications:  We have a Parish Website, Parish Facebook Page, Radio Broadcast on 106.6 FM and Live Streaming.  We invite you to make use of these means of communication to stay in touch during the week.

The 9th World Meeting of Families:  Pope Francis has chosen Ireland to host the 9th World Meeting of Families during 2018 .   To support the hosting of the event we intend to hold three national church collections, the first of which will take place this weekend  28/29th May.  The remaining collections will take place in 2017 and 2018.  Please visit worldmeeting2018.ie for more details

Women’s Mini Marathon: On 6th June Ann Gallagher will be participating in this year’s Women’s Mini Marathon to raise vital funds for the Peter McVerry Trust which is a charity working with Dublin’s young homeless people through homeless services, drug treatment and U18 residential services.  Ann has a sponsorship card and any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated.  Ann can be contacted on 087 1326150.

Regular opening hours will apply for the remainder of June. Regular staffed opening hours are Thurs. 2-5 p.m. & 6 – 8 p.m., Friday 10 a.m. -1 p.m. &  2 – 5 p.m., Sat. 10 a.m. -1 p.m. All Open Libraries members can use the library 8 a.m. – 10 p.m. Mon. through to Sun. U8 & U10 Girls Football:  Training takes place on Mon. 5 – 6 p.m. in the sports field.

Celebrate the 8th Amendment:  On Sat June 4th from 3 – 4 p.m. the National Vigil for Life Committee are organising a huge celebration in recognition of the enormous advantages the Right to Life Amendment has brought to many peoples’ lives. Offaly Hospice Sunflower Days are taking place around the county on 9th, 10th & 11th June.   If you have an hour or two to spare please contact us on 086 8595046 we need volunteers to help us sell sunflowers.
