Altar Swap:  Next weekend the priests of the Cluster will swap Churches.  Fr. Pierre will be in High Street & Boora and Fr. Brady will be in St. Rynagh’s, Banagher.

Baptism:  We welcome into the Christian Community Isobel White, Ard Abhainn, who was baptised recently in St. Rynagh’s Church.

Confirmation:  Members of the Church will receive the Sacrament of Confirmation this coming Saturday at 3 p.m.  The confirming Bishop will be Bishop Colm O’Reilly.  We remember all the candidates in our prayers.

Tracey Tinney is raising funds for Cross Cause – Irish Charity, which supports orphans with special needs in Romania. There will be a Church Gate Collection on 16/17 April.  Your support would be very much appreciated.

Thank You the family of Micheál Camon would like to thank sincerely all those who helped out, sponsored and kindly donated money in the recent benefit night for Micheál. The night was an overwhelming success and we greatly appreciate all the help we received which made it such a success. All proceeds from the fund will go towards Micheál’s ongoing recovery process.

Banagher Active Retirement Club: The next club meeting is on Tues. 12th April 2-4.30 p.m. The club are holding their Annual Uganda Ireland Fundraising tea/coffee afternoon on Friday 15th  April  2-4 p.m.  All money raised goes towards Ester’s care in the Open Door Orphanage in Kampala.  Continued support provides Ester with a safe environment, food, medication and basic needs through Ann Flannery Comerford.

Sisters of the Rising which will be performed at Birr Theatre and Arts Centre as part of their 1916 Centenary programme on Sat. April 16th at 8 p.m. Sisters of the Rising is the first play written by Offaly playwright Christiane O’Mahony.

Charlotte Bronte 200 Celebrations: As part of the second That Beats Banagher Festival an evening to celebrate Charlotte Bronte’s 200th birthday will be held on Thurs. 21st April. The evening commences at 7 p.m. with “’A Miscellany for Charlotte”’ in St. Paul’s Church. This will be a selection of readings, music and song related to the great novelist and her husband Arthur Bell Nicholls of Banagher.  Immediately afterwards
“Charlotte’s Birthday Celebrations” will be held on the grounds of Charlotte’s Way, (formerly Hill House).  Admission to this event is strictly limited and by ticket only. Tickets are free. Bookings can be made online at www.thatbeatsbanagher.com or by calling to the Offaly Local Development Company offices upstairs in Crank House on Main Street. Ferbane/Banagher Macra: Tag Rugby takes place on Mon. 11th April in Teach Lea, Boora at 7.30 p.m.  Club cinema night on Wed. 13th April in Tullamore. All are welcome!

The Darkness into Light 5km Walk/Run will take place in Banagher this year on Sat. 7th May in aid of Pieta House, the centre for the preventions of suicide and self-harm.   The event will begin at 4.15 a.m. from Banagher College and participants will cross the line as dawn is breaking.  You can register online now.

Archbishop Eamon Martin will lead a Christian solidarity pilgrimage to the Holy Land from September 9-17, 2016, on a direct flight from Dublin. It will be an opportunity to visit holy sites and walk in the footsteps of Jesus in Bethlehem, Nazareth, Galilee and Jerusalem. €1,495 per person sharing.
