9 Day Novena:   As we draw close to the Feast of Christmas we prepare by a Nine Day Novena.  Mass will be said each morning at 7 a.m.  We invite and encourage you to join us these mornings.



Parish Christmas Mass Bouquet Cards are on sale in Flynn’s.  All names will be included in Masses during the Christmas Season.

St. Vincent de Paul Church Gate Collection: Next weekend the S.V.D.P. will hold it’s Annual Church Gate Coll.  This year the Banagher Conference of S.V.D.P. spent over €10,000 supporting people in need in the area.  Your support will be greatly appreciated

Acknowledgement:  The Regan family wish to thank most sincerely all who sympathised with them on their recent sad loss of Sean. All those who called to the house, sent Mass cards and travelled to Peterswell to attend Sean’s funeral. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for all your intentions.

Offaly Local Development Company are running a FETAC level 4 Landscaping & Horticulture Local Training Initiative in St. Rynagh’s College of Further Education, Banagher.

Banagher Foroige will close for Christmas Break on Thurs. 10th & Fri. 11th Dec.  The Club will be back on the 14th Jan for Seniors and Fri. 15th Jan. for First Years.  We would like to thank all for their help and support during the year.  Wishing you all a very Happy Christmas.

Let’s brighten up Banagher this Christmas!!!    Christmas lights are now on sale on behalf of the Banagher Christmas Lights Committee, they can be purchased in Banagher Post Office and at the Christmas market on the 5th Dec. If you would like to purchase some of our lights, we would be happy to assist you in putting them up. Let’s make 2015 the brightest Christmas yet.

On Behalf of the committee of “Family and Friends of the Mentally Handicapped” we would like to thank everybody who donated unwanted clothing for our fundraiser event of “Cash for Clobber” in aid of St.Dympnas A.D.S,Portumna. Cloghan Calendar 2016 now available in local shops. Lots of treasured  memories, photos which include local St. Rynagh’s sporting events, Banagher Horse Fair 2015, cultural events and more . A nice Christmas gift. The proceeds go to The Senior Citizens Christmas Party Cloghan. Cost €10.


Banagher Library December/January: Banagher Library will be unstaffed on the following dates: Friday December 4th 2-5pm, Thursday 24th, Friday 25th, Saturday 26th, Thursday 31st December and Friday 1st and Saturday 2nd January. Merry Christmas to all our customers!



The 2016 Cloghan Parish Calendar is on sale throughout the parish in good time for Christmas to post to friends and relatives where ever they may be in the world. Many thanks to all who provided photographs.  A contribution from the sale of the calendar is given to the Cloghan Senior Citizens Christmas party committee.

CHRISTMAS GIVING TREE: Please join in this community effort presented by St Vincent de Paul and Banagher College to give at Christmas. Visit the Giving Tree in the mall at SuperValu to select a card naming a gift or food item, purchase the item, and return the item unwrapped to the express checkout desk in the shop. The tree will be in the mall area from Friday 27th Nov. until Tuesday 15th December. Gifts will be collected and distributed in the locality by our Parish branch of St Vincent de Paul. ‘Tis the season! Thank you.
