God’s love reaches out above all our stresses and anxieties

God’s Door is always open

Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day.  For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all.  So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.”

2 Corinthians 4:16-18

Prayer for those receiving their 1st Holy Communion

A Prayer for those who are preparing Children for their First Holy Communion

IMG_0182

O Jesus, who hast loved us with such exceeding great love
as to give us the ineffable gift of the Holy Eucharist,
inflame us with a burning zeal to promote Thy glory
by preparing worthily the little children
who are to approach Thy holy table for the first time.
Protect, O Sacred Heart of Jesus,
these young souls from the assaults of evil,
strengthen their faith,
increase their love and endow them
with all the virtues that will make them worthy to receive
Thee.

Amen.

Whatever you’re doing, take God with you (A short reflection)

A man had the job of painting the white line in the middle of the road. The first day he painted 25 metres. The next day he painted 15 metres and on the third day only 8 metres. The foreman came along and asked him to explain why he had slowed down. ‘Well’ said the man, ‘The can of paint was getting further away’ !!

Sometimes we also allow God to slip further and further away in our lives. It’s not that we intentionally set out with this in mind but simply we drift. We move on in our lives, we make new friends, we embrace new opportunities and sometimes we forget to bring God with us. The invitation each day, whatever way it’s going, is to invite God in.
Using the image of the can of paint, the invitation is also to bring God along with us. We will not be disappointed
