Banagher Active Retirement Club: The club has organised a trip to Bru Boru, Cashel this Tues. July 26th.  The bus leaves from the library square at 4 p.m.

Offaly Local Development Company in association with the ETB invites applications for a 6 month full-time QQI (FETAC) Level 5 “Healthcare Support” course commencing in Birr, September 2016.  You are welcome to make informal enquiries to 087 738 5989.

Lough Derg is a place of welcome where no one is judged and everyone is equal.  You can begin your three Day Pilgrimage on any day until 13th August.  No need to book. Daily boats to the Island from 10.30 a.m. until 3 p.m. 7 days a week until 13th August. Regular pilgrimages throughout the season country wide. Wedding:  Congratulations to Angelina McDonagh, Banagher & John Doorly, Tullamore, who were married in St. Rynagh’s Church last weekend.

Pilgrimage Gathering:  A sincere word of thanks to everyone who helped prepare and lead our prayers last Thursday, those who read, took part in the processions, the various musicians, as well as those who helped prepare the space and provided the sound and refreshments.

Offaly Hospice Foundation Church Gate collection will be taking place
throughout the county on Sat. 16th & Sun. 17th July. All money raised will be spent directly on patient care in our local communities. Your support will be greatly appreciated and much needed in helping us support the work of Offaly Palliative Care Team services in our county. All money raised in Offaly stays in Offaly.

Ferbane/Banagher Macra:  We are having a TABLE QUIZ in Kelly’s, Belmont on Friday 15th July at 9 p.m. in aid of iCAN, a very worthy cause for children with juvenile arthritis. Thank You:  Ann Gallagher would like to say a big thank you to all who so generously sponsored her participation in the Women’s Mini Marathon.  The Peter McVerry Trust has acknowledged the monies raised which amounted to €1,079 and which far exceeded Ann’s expectation when undertaking this fundraising event.  The services of the Trust are crucial in helping some of Ireland’s most vulnerable young people to break the cycle of homelessness, enabling them to move towards independent living and full integration into society and this is made possible in no small way by the generosity of people who

Year of Mercy Pilgrimage:  This Thurs. the 2nd of our 7 Thurs. Pilgrimages will be in Banagher.  This week’s theme is to Educate the Young, ”The 2nd Corporal Work of Mercy”.  The prayer service will take place in the St. Rynagh’s National School at 7.30 p.m.  We make a special invitation to parents and children to join us.

Thank You:  On behalf of the committee we would like to thank the people of Banagher and the surrounding area for their huge support in our walk for darkness into light we would like to thank everyone who helped in any way.   The amount raised  €16,615. That beats Banagher !!

Youth 2000 Summer Festival, Cistercian College, Roscrea, Co. Tipperary from Thursday 7th – Sunday 10th July 2016. For young people aged 16-35, an opportunity not to be missed to experience the Catholic faith and meet many new people, with over 1000 young people from all corners of Ireland attending last year.
