Banagher Parish Christmas Mass Bouquet Cards are now on sale in local shops at €2.  Proceeds of sale will go to Banagher S.V.D.P.

St. Vincent de Paul:  The Annual National Collection for S.V.D.P. takes place on the weekend 6/7th Dec.  A Church Gate Coll. will take place that weekend.  Banagher S.V.D.P. spent €10,000 over the past 12 months.  Your support is sought to help us continue this work.

Christmas Novena:  A 9 Day Novena will take place in the days leading up to Christmas.  This year the Novena consists of Mass each morning at 7 a.m. except on the two Sun. when Mass will be at 8.30 a.m.  The 9 Day Novena starts on Sat. 13th Dec. and ends on Sun. 21st Dec.

Liturgy Meeting this Tuesday 2nd Dec. at 8 p.m. in The Presbytery.

Pastoral Council Election:  Voting Papers are available this weekend for election to the Pastoral Council.  Please take one home and return at next weekend’s Masses.

Offertory & Restoration Envelopes for the coming year are ready for delivery.  If you can help deliver boxes for your area please call to the Sacristy after any Mass this weekend.  If you do not get an envelope box and wish to receive one contact Fr. Pierre.  I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your generous support of the Parish.

The Christmas Lights Committee are looking for a bit of help getting the trees ready for this year.  If you can spare a couple of hours on Sat. 6th Dec. please call Johnny Butler on 086 2478962.  Any help is greatly appreciated.

Safeguarding Message from Bishop Francis: During this season of Advent many children will be involved in preparations for Christmas liturgies.  It is a special time for them and for their families.  I wish to thank our Safeguarding Representatives in the forty-one parishes for their work in ensuring the safety of children in all church related activities.    I encourage anyone with concerns regarding the safety of children or anyone who suffered in the past to contact our Designated Persons: Sean Leydon (087-7431649) or Róisín O’Doherty (087-3327587) or An Garda Siochana or Tusla.

Kismet & Friends (Birr Community Mental Health Centre Music Group) Kindly invite you to celebrate the launching of a CD “Simply Being You” in The County Arms Hotel, Birr on Wed. 3rd Dec. at 7.30 p.m.  CD on sale €10 all proceeds to your local Mental Health Association.

Banagher & District Community Games (including Cloghan/Lusmagh/Lumcloon/Shannon Harbour) AGM will take place on Thurs. Dec. 4th at 8 p.m. in St. Rynagh’s National School, Banagher. Community Games is an independent voluntary organisation for children and young people to grow and develop in a positive and healthy way while experiencing a wide range of sporting and cultural activities. We rely on volunteers to assist in promoting the sporting and cultural activities, training children/young people, organising local sports days and fundraising. If you feel you can offer your time and support please come along to the AGM and get involved.
