Graveyard Development:  The new road way is almost completed in the Cemetery.  Work should be finished next week.   We ask all visitors to the Cemetery to refrain from walking or driving on the new road for the next week to allow concrete to dry.  We apologise for any inconvenience caused during the works.

Banagher Ladies Club next meeting on Wed. 5th Nov. which will include Christmas Flower Arrangements. New members welcome. Christmas Party in Flynn’s, Banagher on Fri. 5th Dec. €25 can be given to committee members or dropped into Ann Mullins.

Graveyard Development:  At present the new roadway in the graveyard is being laid.  This work will take 7 to 10 days to complete.  We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.  The gates have been removed for repairs and the ditches are to be trimmed over the coming weeks.

Remember:  Clocks go back 1 hour at 2 a.m. this Sunday morning.

5km Run/Walk & Tug of War event take place this Sun. 26th Oct.  The run/walk begins at 1 p.m.  Registration is in St. Rynagh’s N.S. from 12.30 p.m.  Adults €10, Children €5, Family €20. Tug of War from 3 p.m. in Crank House Car Park.  All welcome.  In aid of Banagher Graveyard Development.

CU Factor:  Well done to Ruth Fogarty, Sinéad Moran, Ciarra O’Sullivan and Michaela Keenaghan who took part in the Regional Final in Ballinasloe on Sat. 18th Oct.  Michaela won 1st prize and now goes forward to the All-Ireland in Drogheda on 1st Nov. and we know she’ll do Banagher proud.  Go n-éirí leat!

Lusmagh Foroige host their annual Halloween Fancy Dress Disco on Wed. 29th Oct. at 2.30 – 4 p.m. in Lusmagh Hall.  Adm. €3 or 2 children for €5. All welcome.

Graveyard Developments:  The amount collected for the cemetery development fund was €7,904.  The Committee would like to offer a sincere word of thanks to all those who contributed to the fund.  €500 was donated by the Guinan Family in memory of their son & brother Colin R.I.P. , proceeds from a soccer tournament.   Work on the main pathway will commence in the coming week or two.  We plan to concrete the roadway, the gates will be removed and cleaned.  The hedges have been cut with more to be done.  Access to the graveyard will be limited for the duration of the works.  Your cooperation is much appreciated.

Ardagh & Clonmacnois assisted Pilgrims Fund in association with Athlone Little Theatre present “THE COUNTRY BOY” by John Murphy, a classic comedy-drama, in Cloghan Hall on Fri.17th Oct. 2014 at 8 p.m. sharp.   Adm.  €10, Concessions €8. Doors open at 7.30 p.m. The cast are from the Parish of St Mary’s in Athlone and are members of Local Drama groups in the area. They are donating their time and skill in support of the Great work that is done in Lourdes annually.
