Padre Pio Statue:  A sincere word of thanks to Antonio and Angelo Perna who arranged to have the Padre Pio and Good Shepherd Statues cleaned and repaired.  Both statues now look in great condition.

Corpus Christi Procession takes place after the 11.30 a.m. Mass.    A special place is for this year’s First Communion Children.  The Procession goes from the Church to the National School.  The Procession will be followed by the party for the First Communion Children.  All are invited.

People needed to prune and weed the flower bed in the car park beside the Vine House. If you have an hour to help out, meet at the car park on Thursday 26th June at 7.00 pm. Tools provided.

All Banagher Active Retirement Club Members are invited to Shannonbridge on June 27th where Mass will be celebrated in Church at 6 p.m. and afterwards to local hall for refreshment and entertainment. Please let Mary or Kathleen know if you are interested in going before Wednesday 25th.

Community Games: Congratulations to the U12 Girls Football & U14 Camogie Girls who qualified for the Leinster Semi-final during the week.

Ferbane / Banagher Macra are having Tag Rugby every Wed. evening in Boora at 8pm.  *  Next Club meeting will be held on Mon. 23rd of June at 9 p.m. in Flynn’s Bar, Banagher. All welcome especially new members.   *  We are holding a 5k fun run/walk in aid of Offaly Rowing Club member Josh Connon on Sunday 20th of July in Lough Boora Parklands, Boora. Registration will be from 10.30am with start at 11am. Entry is €10. Please support this cause with all funds going towards equipment for Josh Connon’s Rowing.

Banagher Library: Due to Library improvement works Banagher Library will be CLOSED from Thurs 12th June till Wed. 2nd July inclusive. Please keep any items you may have on loan until we reopen- NO FINES will apply on borrowed items during this closure period. Books can also be returned to other branches. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

West Offaly Community & Voluntary Groups:   The next meeting of the West Offaly Community Forum will take place on Tue. 10th June at 8 p.m. in the Community Enterprise Building  (opposite Bright Beginnings Childcare Centre) in the Business & Technology Park, Ballycumber Rd.

Banagher Active Retirement Club are hosting their Annual Tea/Coffee afternoon on Fri. 20th June 2 – 4 p.m. in St. Rynagh’s College of Further Education.  This is in aid of Uganda/Ireland Opening Door’s Orphanage in Kampala.  All money raised goes towards Esther’s care and medical needs through Ann Comerford (nee Flannery).  All support greatly appreciated.

Acknowledgement:  Assumpta Windsor McGlynn wishes to thank all those who sympathised with her on the passing of her beloved sister Pauline Cleary R.I.P.  To Fr. Pierre & all who travelled to Borrisokane to the wake and funeral Mass, to those who sent Mass Cards, Sympathy Cards, to those who called to the house, to those who offered prayers, to wonderful neighbours & friends who were a constant source of support & kindness in word & deed, sincere gratitude.  The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass has been offered by Fr.
