St. Bridget’s Day:  To mark St. Bridget’s Day 1st Feb. we will hold a session on Wed. 30th Jan. to make St. Bridget’s Crosses in Crank House at 7 p.m.   We invite everyone to come along and continue this ancient tradition.  The crosses will be blessed at the Masses the following weekend.

Candlemas & St. Blaise:  The feast of St. Blaise will take place next weekend.  Throats will be blessed at all weekend Masses.  The blessing of candles will take place at the 9.30 p.m. Mass Sat. morning.

Church Gate Collection next weekend Feb. 2nd and 3rd for Cystic Fibrosis.

Catholic Schools Week:  This coming week we take the opportunity to celebrate our Catholic School and the contribution it makes to the life of the church and the wider community.  It is important at this time of major debate about the future of Catholic education that we reflect on what it means to have a Catholic School in our Parish.  It is the chance to reflect on where we have come from and where we are going.  During the week a number of events take place in our school to mark this week.  We take this occasion to thank all involved in St. Rynagh’s N.S. for their outstanding contribution to education in our Parish.

Banagher College Coláiste na Sionna:  OPEN NIGHT for sixth class students and their parents/guardians takes place on Thur. 31st Jan. at 7.30 p.m.

Cloghan Hall – Lusmagh Drama Group present “Many Happy Returns” in Cloghan Hall on 8th Feb. at 8 p.m.  Door open 7.30 p.m.  Tickets Adults €10,  O.A.P.s and Students €5.

Active Retirement Group:  Next meeting on Tues. 29th Jan. at 2 – 4.30 p.m.  Guest speaker on the day.  New members welcome.

Spring Art Class starting on Tue. 22nd Jan for 6 weeks from 7.30 p.m. to 9.30 p.m. in St. Rynagh’s College of Further Education in Main St, Banagher. Church Restoration Update

Church Restoration Update:

As we begin a new year we look forward to the reopening of our church in March.   At this stage most of the construction work has been completed.  Over the coming weeks work will commence on the painting and decoration of the entire Church.  Once this is complete the flooring will be laid and the marble replaced in the sanctuary and the sound and lighting systems installed.
