Banagher Review 2012

Well done Dave on your great work and we look forward to this years review.  You and contact Dave at 087 6422210 or by email at boylandave@eircom.net.

Croagh Patrick Climb

Bank holiday Monday saw 60 members of the parish clustertake on the ancient pilgrimage climb of Irelands holy mountain, the day started off fine and every one was in fine spirits, the climb was lead by Fr James from Boher.  The climb it’s self proved a wet one with the conditions worsening as the day went on but all those who climbed remained in good spirits.  At the summit there was time to rest and spend some time in prayer and reflection before the set off on the journey down.  Everyone managed to reach the botton in one piece and were glad to have made the climb.  The bus arrived back at around 11pm, wel done to all involved we look forward to next years climb.

Church Restoration Updates

We are still awaiting a deision from Offaly CO CO planning office, they were due to make a decision last week but they have come back to us looking for more information on the rose window that we plan to move from the old convent Chapel to St Rynaghs Church.  We have consultated with or architect and are ready to submit our reply.  While this is happening we are busy making final plan’s about various aspects of the restoration such as the colour scheme, the flooring style sound system ect.  The second collection to fund the project will start next weekend Sept 1st/2nd, envelopes for this collection are going out over the coming days.  It is hoped to collect 700 euro each week this will allow us to clear our debt within 4 years.
